I can’t agree with you more. It can be seen in almost every “indie” movie these days, every character that’s portrayed as special or better than everyone else is shown to struggle fitting in with everyone else because they’re “unique”. Depression has become glorified as a way to portray how much better you are than everyone else and that they just don’t understand you. But in reality they’re just trying to look cool

the first release of my solo project Middle Class Suburbia

This is a solo project of mine. It started with strong influences from many folk-punk bands with Defiance Ohio, Andrew Jackson Jihad and Crywank being the main sources of inspiration.  For the most part my songs consist solely of cello, guitar and vocals.

Over time I’ve picked up a less aggressive sound with influences from shoegaze and emo, to create a calmer reverb atmosphere more apparent in my most recent release entitled “whining about nothing”.

This project has become an outlet for my fears and insecurities about myself and my relationships with others.
